This year sees Her Majesty The Queen become the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee after 70 years of service. That alone (despite the bonus extra bank holidays) is worth celebrating.

Bridlington Royal Jubilee Seacrow trail May 30th – June 12th – this Royalty themed take on a scarecrow festival even has prizes for those taking part. A great one to look out for when you’re in Brid.
Whitby – Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Afternoon Tea Party at the Ballroom at Hetty and Betty’s 3 June – this fabulous vintage-style venue is always a winner. Great cake and entertainment, what more can you ask for?
Hornsea’s Jubilee in the Garden, Hornsea Museum 4 June – Hornsea has some great events planned over the weekend. This one in the Museum Garden is a FREE event with live music from the Tuber Dudes & Hessle Swing Band – a great one for older audiences.
The Great British Show-off at Whitby Pavilion 3 & 4 June – a celebration of all things British – Great fun!
Cayton village is going all out with a whole week of activities including Country Picnic & Treasure Hunt 30 May, Bingo Night 31 May, Lantern workshops on 1 & 2 June & Lantern Parade on 2 June, Jubilee Quiz night on 1 June, Pop-up Jubilee Afternoon Tea on 4 June and a Family Fun Day on 5 June
Scarborough Castle Kids Rule, Sat 28 May – 5 June – you can always rely on English Heritage to come up with some great themed activities for the little ones. Kids Rule runs throughout the school holidays.
Bridlington Spa have The Queens Knickers, 3 June for kids and Right Royal Street Party, 4 June for adults
The Met Lounge Ballroom Whitby, Queen’s Jubilee Gala Night, 3 June – fancy dressing up and making a night of it? This variety gala event looks set to be a great night’s entertainment and chance to put your glad rags on.
Finally…not forgetting Withernsea who have a whole host of events planned including family fun day, live music, traditional village ‘fete’ and much more.
