We’re leaving the Park and Ride, passing the Belvedere Golf Club – which is just a five-minute walk away – and heading to our first key destination: Bridlington Spa.

To your right are spectacular views across South Promenade, the expansive sandy beach and out to sea.

At all times of the year, you’ll see families, couples and dog walkers enjoying the great facilities on the Promenade. It’s an ideal spot to set up base. If you’re looking for comfort, try the chalets for hire that run from the Park and Ride all the way down to Richie’s Cafe – serving an apple pie so good, they claim it’s “world famous”!

At the head of the South Beach sits Bridlington Spa – just a stone’s throw from the historic harbour.

The Spa has a proud history as a magnet for world-class talent. There’s always an exciting programme of entertainment, including the very best in music, comedy, theatre and touring musicals.

See big acts like McFly or The Kooks or step back in time for The Magic of Motown.

History buffs can admire the Art Deco ballroom and Edwardian Theatre.

If you’re looking for a gentle pace of life, enjoy an afternoon tea dance – while the more adventurous can strap on their skates for a roller disco!

If you’re a foodie, try one of the signature scones while you admire the incredible sea views in the panoramic café.

And don’t forget the local artist’s studio where you can see the work of talented Yorkshire artists every week.

A couple of events near The Spa this year that shouldn’t be missed:

The Super Soapbox Challenge is on Sunday, the 11th of September. Fun, wacky carts will come racing down South Marine Drive and round the tight hairpin turn onto the promenade just outside the Spa.

And in October, there’ll be a world record attempt building “The Trojan Horse” – part of The Odyssey events taking place all along the Yorkshire Coast this year.

Whatever you love, make sure you hop off and explore this beautiful part of historic Bridlington.

Great places to hop on and hop off on the Bridlington Explorer! 🚌
