The Friendly Forester on Brid’s Marton Road heading towards Sewerby is a very popular family-friendly pub. It is one of the flagship venues for the pub company that owns it – Sizzling Pubs! And it’s not surprising why, not only is it perfectly located to appeal to both locals and tourists coming to the wonderful Brid beaches, its a fabulously welcoming, spacious venue.
As the name suggests it also has some of the friendliest staff too!
Actually, the name is another interesting fact – it is named after a lifeboat that used to be based just up the coast at Flamborough. The Friendly Forester – the old lifeboat – is now resting at the Thornwick Bay Haven Holiday Park.
The Friendly Forester pub is looking wonderfully sparkling and new! It’s been eight years since it last had a refresh but the work that has gone into it has more than made up for that. It was closed for nearly a month, but in that time the whole place – including the kitchens have been completely transformed.
The team are celebrating with their customers at a launch party, as I write this, on 1 December. Guests of honour will be the original crew of the Friendly Forester. ❤️
So what can you expect from the new Friendly Forester well there’s four 65inch large screen tv’s, tastefully located throughout the venue and a massive 75inch screen permanently located outside in the 300 seater beer garden. I think that makes this one of the top location for watching the football – and tennis – and any great televised events really!
The new seating makes it the perfect place for family gatherings and there are plans for a new children’s outdoor play area to be installed early in the New Year.
So festivities at the Friendly Forester are set to be fantastic too – though if you didn’t book early I’m afraid you might have missed out as their special events programme are all sold out now!
You can still enjoy their wonderful festive menu though which has a wonderfully sizzling twist on the traditional turkey dinner. All available until 1 January.
