The Chalk Tower: An iconic backdrop for the show

THE CHALK TOWER
FLAMBOROUGH

If you have never visited Flamborough before, you need to add it to your Route YC itinerary, because not only is it a place full of outstanding natural beauty and wildlife, but it has iconic buildings like The Chalk Tower.

It stands proudly on the edge of the golf course, built by Sir John Clayton between 1669 and 1674, and it is the oldest surviving lighthouse in England!

The Old Flamborough Lighthouse served as a daymark, but there is no evidence of the tower being lit as it was designed to display a fire on top, but Clayton was unable to raise enough funds to provide the fuel.

The tower is now managed by the Friends of the Chalk Tower Flamborough and it is occasionally open to the public and we thought that this would be an amazing location for the lasers to highlight the beauty of this historic landmark.
