5 Hot Chocolate Drinks – Bonfire Night

Ah, hot chocolate- nothing says cozy quite like a mug of your favorite warm and creamy indulgence. Whether you’re lounging at home, gathered around a bonfire, or enjoying a sweet treat with friends, nothing beats the classic taste of hot chocolate. For an especially memorable occasion, we’ve rounded up five delicious hot chocolate drinks that are easy to make and perfect for Bonfire Night. Make your fire-side gathering a chocoholic’s dream with these five indulgent recipes!

1 – PEPPERMINT HOT CHOCOLATE

The first is peppermint Hot chocolate which is one of our favourites, we picked up the recipe a few years ago and it never fails to please.

Serves 6

INGREDIENTS

200g bar of milk or dark Chocolate broken into chunks

600ml Milk (preferred)

150ml single cream

6 Peppermint candy canes.

Mini marshmallows (optional)

METHOD

Break the chocolate bar into chunks and add the chocolate to a pan with the milk. Gently heat, stirring until all the chocolate has melted. Continue heating until the milk is steaming, then remove from the heat and stir in the cream.

Divide the hot chocolate between 6 cups, and add sugar (optional) Give your guest a candy cane and pass the cups around so everyone can stir their hot chocolate with their candy cane, Your Guests can stir and let as much peppermint melt into their drink as they fancy. 😋 YUM 😋 *for those who love mini marshmallows add now*

2 – ICE CREAM HOT CHOCOLATE DRINK

Who doesn’t love Ice Cream? We love Vanilla which is a perfect ice cream for this delicious tasty hot chocolate drink, it does need to be eaten with a spoon and drank as soon as it’s made to get the hot and cold feeling on your taste buds!

Serves 6

INGREDIENTS

200g Milk or Plain Chocolate

600ml Full-Fat Milk

Vanilla Ice Cream

METHOD

Break 200g plain chocolate into cubes and put into a pan with 600ml full-fat milk.

Gently heat until the chocolate melts, then bring almost to a boil, whisking regularly until even and smooth.

Put a Scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream into heatproof glasses or mugs.

Pour over the Hot Chocolate and serve with a spoon 🥰😋

3 – BOOZY COCONUT HOT CHOCOLATE FOR THE ADULTS 😁

Thought we would slip one in for the adults, this is delicious and worth trying, hope you love it as much as we do. 😉

Serves 3

INGREDIENTS

300ML Full-fat milk

50G White chocolate

25 Ml of coconut flavoured Rum or Malibu

2 Tsp of Finely grated plain chocolate

2 Tsp of coconut flakes

METHOD

Pour the milk into a small pan and then place over medium heat until simmering, stirring so it doesn’t scorch. Remove the pan from the heat then add the white chocolate and stir. Once the chocolate has melted, place the pan back on the heat to warm through. Add the coconut-flavoured rum and pour into a mug.

Garnish with dark chocolate and a few coconut flakes. 😋

4 – HOT CHOCOLATE WITH MARSHMALLOWS

We love Hot chocolate with Marshmallows it’s so easy to make, you can use either the small mallows or the large ones which we love, definitely need to eat this indulgent drink with a spoon though 🥄☕️

Serves 5 mugs or 6 Cups

INGREDIENTS

600 ml Milk

142 ml Pot of Doubble Cream

100g of chopped milk chocolate

METHOD

Pour the milk, double cream, and chopped chocolate into a pan.

Bring gently to the boil, whisking until smooth.

Serve in individual cups 6 or 4 mugs topped with mini marshmallows and a little grated chocolate.

5 – HAZELNUT CREAM HOT CHOCOLATE

If you like hazelnuts you will love this delicious Hot Chocolate Drink, it has a favourite hazelnut spread and toasted hazelnuts to garnish.

Serves 2

INGREDIENTS

100ML Double Cream

2 Tsp of Chocolate hazelnut spread

300ml of full-fat milk

50g Milk chocolate (chopped)

2 Tsp toasted chopped hazelnuts

METHOD

Whip the Cream until thick then fold in the chocolate hazelnut spread, only stir twice as you want a marble effect

In a small saucepan over medium heat, warm the milk until simmering, take off the heat and add the chocolate. Let it melt stirring until smooth. Return to the heat until it begins to simmer gently.

Take off the heat and pour the hot chocolate into 2 mugs and then add the whipped cream mixture.

Finally, sprinkle on the toasted hazelnuts and enjoy 🥰😋
