A warm welcome at The Coachman Inn

A warm welcome at The Coachman Inn

The Coachman Inn looks like it is straight out of the set for Bridgerton (or Jane Austin if you haven't quite taken that regency romance leap). It is quite easy to imagine the Duke stepping down to rest his horses en route to his country estate here. Or perhaps that's just my Regency-obsessed imagination. It was built in 1776 and is a Grade II-listed Georgian coaching inn. I simply love the fact that it is still catering to travellers' needs nearly 250 years later! They certainly haven't stood still in that time - the whole place is beautifully and sympathetically…

If you are a lover of Pies - or just simply a lover of good, quality, homemade, heartwarming food - there is no better place. Irton Garden Centre – part of British Garden Centres

Irton Garden Centre – part of British Garden Centres

Irton Garden Centre has seen significant investment over the last ten years. It has always been known for its extensive range of quality plants and gardening equipment. It’s also a great place to go for those unique little gifts for those ‘hard to buy for’ friends and family members. And the scones were always to die for. The thing is it’s all got so much bigger – more space – more plants – more garden furniture – more water features – more gifts – more seating in the café and more great offers. As you sit in their extended café…

The White House Inn, Whitby

The White House Inn, Whitby

You’d be forgiven if you’re not so familiar with Whitby if you haven’t come across this little gem of a place before. Just off the mini roundabout as you head towards Sandsend coming out of Whitby. Essentially, it’s the last house on the West Cliff. This prominent building used to be the clubhouse to the Golf Course many moons ago – as this old picture shows. It still has a slight feel of a stylish clubhouse, with its wonderful panoramic views across the golf course and right across the bay towards Sandsend. It certainly takes some beating. The tasteful, modern…
